Getting beam time

General User Proposal

Most of the neutron sources around the world offer free access to the suite of instruments for academic and industrial researchers, usually with the conditions that the results from experiments are published in the public domain. The way of accessing beam time varies for different facilities, but it is typically arranged via the submission of a scientific proposal to be evaluated by a scientific panel. A few proposal rounds are available throughout the year with specific submission deadlines. Details of the general user program of the participating neutron strain scanners can be found in the table below.

Industrial Access

Many of the neutron sources also offer fast-tracked and proprietary access for industrial and commercial use. More information about the industrial access for the participating neutron strain scanners can be found in the table below.

Access to Neutron Strain Scanner with NQL

Neutron strain scanners provide access for academic and industrial users, with beam time available throughout the year.
